Addressing mental health in formative years is vital for fostering resilience and supporting healthy coping mechanisms. By championing mental wellbeing in adolescence, we cultivate a generation ready to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and clarity. In this blog, we share the story of Meghan, seeking the right provider for teen anxiety for her daughter, Grace.
Health Concern
Meghan’s 16 year old daughter, Grace, was recently diagnosed with anxiety. Meghan reached out to Summus for assistance identifying a provider who could support her daughter.
Member Impact
Summus quickly connected Meghan with Dr. Rosamaria Alamo, Summus Clinical Advisor and Clinical Associate Professor of Social Work at the University of Southern California. Dr. Alamo listened to Meghan’s concerns and collected care preferences for Grace. Within a week, Summus prepared a personalized list of providers that had expertise in Grace’s condition. They offered virtual and in-person appointments, were covered by Meghan’s insurance, and were the right provider for teen anxiety. Meghan shared that the list of providers saved her at least 10 hours of independent research.
Summus is one of the most valuable benefits I have had at any job. I recommend it to colleagues all the time. Everyone I have interacted with at Summus is kind, friendly, helpful, and professional. I have saved countless hours using Summus. I am so grateful that Summus exists!
