Timely Mental Health Support for a Teenager

Finding timely mental health support for a teenager is paramount. Early intervention and personalized support help establish emotional resilience. By prioritizing fast access to the best resources, parents can empower their children and foster a stable foundation for their mental health. In this blog, we share how Summus supported a mother to get the care needed for her son.

Health Concern

Following an evaluation with his therapist, it was recommended that Jack, a 16 year old, receive comprehensive psychological testing. Jack’s mother, Kira, didn’t know what to do or who to see. She reached out to Summus to find an in-network psychologist, hoping for timely mental health support.

Member Impact

In less than 24 hours, Summus connected Kira with Dr. Rosamaria Alamo, Summus Clinical Advisor and Clinical Associate Professor of Social Work at the University of Southern California. Dr. Alamo then reviewed Jack’s medical records and care preferences. She was able to curate a list of providers for in-person care that also accepted Kira’s insurance. The list of providers Summus delivered saved Kira many hours worth of time and the hassle of independent research. Jack is now successfully working with one of the recommended providers.
